Arctic Fox Morphs (Vulpes lagopus)

1. A very dark grey brown individual with subtle rusty areas in a summer coat.
2. This picture seems edited, but another shot of the same fox shows that it’s solid mahogany coat (not counting the strands of leftover winter coat) really is that briliant!
3. Not only does this fox have a unique dark grizzled appearance, pink nose, white blaze and socks, it also has has a piercing blue eye.
4. Light grey, this individual’s colors may be less intense then #3, but it’s no less beautiful. A thick white blaze starting from it’s muzzle to the back of the head. The forelimbs, chest, and most of it’s tail is dipped in white.
5. Another pied fox, but in a winter coat. Only faint traces of it’s blaze stand out against remaining dark guard hair lightly peeking through it’s light coat.
6. Perhaps more “traditionally” leucistic, you wouldn’t notice this winter coated white was any different then most until you see it’s pale blue eyes and pink nose.
7. This odd eyed cub might be related to #3. With a blue eye, soft grey fur, thick blaze, and white feet, the black freckled pink nose is just icing on the so-damned-cute cake.
8. This odd eyed white mother (who is either gaining or losing her white) has a little of both white and blue cubs, with one blue cub whose tail is lighter in color.
9. A dark brown cub with a stunning diluted blue sibling, with a ruddy-grey nose.

mod!edit: I wanted to try to avoid the more “loved” wild canines, because their popularity usually means that odd colored individuals are not “new” to most people. Broke my own rule, because I figured that more people would enjoy seeing these, since I haven’t seen their less common colors around everywhere as with red foxes and wolves, surprisingly. *hesitantly pets fox *

The might not have the variety that reds have, but arctics certainly have some cool color morphs!

Not sure about the first two, but the third is a Sognli Blue, which I think is an arctic x silver, (vulpes vulpes), hybrid. Four and five are known as Blue Star, six is a Sognli White, (possibly another hybrid), seven is another Blue Star, eight is probably just a normal white, or possibly a Shadow, and nine are known as Finnish Sapphire and Blue.

There are also some other arctic colors not shown here, such as Pearl, Platinum Blue, Nordic Blue and Swedish Sapphire to name a few.
